I feel that 2025 was an unpredictable year, full of surprises. Looking back, I never imagined that this year would bring so many changes to my life compared to the years before. I’ve decided to put together a recap of my own journey throughout 2025.

Mastering Personal Finance

Since 2023, I’ve been disciplined about tracking my finances to understand exactly where my money goes. I started with a spreadsheet-based Money Management template, which was incredibly helpful. However, as my financial needs grew more complex, I realized I needed a mobile-friendly solution that fit my specific workflow.

After searching for an app that met my criteria and coming up empty-handed, I decided to build my own: Budgetify. It has been rewarding to use a tool I created myself, and it serves my needs perfectly to this day.

Launching My Personal Website

This year, I also launched my personal website—a simple static site built with Bootstrap and Contentful as the CMS. It was designed to be a hub for my personal branding and a place to share my thoughts. Even though I haven’t published as much new content as I originally planned, having a digital home of my own feels like a great milestone.

A Career Leap

After 2.5 years of working remotely, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. At the end of Q1 2025, I moved to Jakarta to start a new chapter. This was a massive shift—transitioning from a remote setup to a 9-to-5 office life.

Being in a new environment with new people and greater responsibilities was a challenge. Although it meant being away from my inner circle, moving to Jakarta is a decision I haven’t regretted for a single second.

New and Enjoyable Experiences

Relocating to Jakarta opened doors to experiences I had never tried before. Thanks to a new circle of friends, I’ve had an incredible time hiking in Sentul, starting a gym routine (even if I’m still working on being consistent!), glamping in Bandung, and exploring countless coffee shops and culinary gems across Indonesia. I am deeply grateful for the community and friends I have now.

Lessons from Failure

Not everything in 2025 went according to plan. I learned that joy, hopes, and dreams don’t always align with our timelines. What we plan doesn’t always unfold smoothly, and what we want isn’t always what we get right away.

But I’ve realized that nothing is impossible; things just have their own timing. As long as we stay hopeful, keep working hard, and trust in a higher plan, what is meant for us will never miss us. Through every failure, I’ve learned that what is destined for me will always find its way.

I am truly grateful for how I navigated 2025. It was a year packed with invaluable lessons and experiences. Thank you for the highs and the lows. To my loved ones, my family, and my friends who have supported me. Thank you for being there.
